Welcome to the 2011 summer issue of BST Journal, we hope you find it stimulating, useful and, indeed, entertaining.

The refereed papers as usual range across a broad spectrum which includes the physical, literary, artistic and theatrical, emphasising the blurring of disciplinary boundaries and forms. As with previous issues the Journal continues to facilitate individual responses to issues and analysis from all its contributors.

Similarly, Reviews and Perspectives sections of the Journal, while not refereed, continue to offer distinctly original voices and opinions and, as such, form an important independent documentation of various contemporary art practices. The Journal always welcomes contributions to these important sections.
